ARTIST NOTES: There are three works in this series. I've called it the primary/secondary series. I started with the same base of acrylic on canvas painted with red blue and yellow and then covered the base with a combination of oil paint colours to create the secondary colour, in this case Orange. I use a paint scraper to apply and remove sections of the oil paint for the scraped effect you see.

ARTIST BIO

Kelly Burke  was born in the US and relocated to Melbourne, Australia in 2017 were she lives and creates with her husband and dog. She started getting serious about exploring her artistic side in 2020 just as COVID came along and gave her the time and space to do just that. She loves exploring different visual art medium. To date she has experimented with: photography, pottery, acrylic painting, oil painting, acrylic pouring, alcohol inks and resin in a multitude of uses. She is inspired by nature, music, her family, and the process of being creative itself. Coming to her studio and creating with her hands gives her a sense of purpose she has not found anywhere else.
