ARTIST NOTES: This plate is a Twin Sister of my award winning plate For Eternity.
Artisan mixed media centrepiece is a merge of my two artistic passions, pottery and stained glass making using Tiffany method.
On the cracked pottery plate I made that was firstly silk screen printed in a leafy design and glazed with satin glaze to match the satin frosty surface of sea glass, I've added the numerous white sea glass pieces. Broken glass, discarded to the ocean decades ago has been smoothed by the tides and waves, making another beauty and had been picked by me on Mornington Peninsula, where I live or on my travels around Australia.
Each piece was soldered using Tiffany soft soldering technique with lead free solder creating a mosaic to make the plate whole again, my interpretation of kintsugi.
Intricate piece which might be a conversation starter.
