I've been a creative all my life but only started painting a couple of years ago. It's something that runs in the family I suppose. My grandmother, father and sister were/is very talented so it's easy to believe the leaning is largely genetic. In the past I've been a personal colour consultant, fashion designer and dress maker, commercial colour consultant and interior designer. Now it's painting and I love it. The hardest part is choosing what to paint next - with so many options and genres, I never run out of ideas. The most recent thing I love to paint is portraiture. Painting is so incredibly absorbing. For me it's as though the world stops and time disappears when I'm working on a piece. Tucked away in my little studio at the back of the property I don't notice when I've missed a meal or that it's suddenly dark outside.
These days we enjoy a slow pace. Through the week my husband Ian composes and runs a music production studio while I paint. Together we run our boutique Bed & Breakfast (The Musicians Retreat) on weekends when we have the great pleasure of meeting and hosting people from all over Australia and the world (COVID permitting) and sharing the magic of our Peninsula.
