ARTIST NOTES: This multimedia centrepiece is a merge of my two artistic passions, pottery and stained glass making using Tiffany method.
On the cracked pottery plate I made, glazed with ombre blue glazes, I've added the numerous cobalt, aqua and teal blue sea glass pieces. The pattern reminds me of a Bonsai tree. Broken glass, discarded into the ocean decades ago has been smoothed by the tides and waves, making another beauty and had been picked by me on Mornington Peninsula, where I live or on my travels around Australia.
Each piece was soldered using Tiffany soft soldering method with lead free solder creating a mosaic to make the plate whole again.
Intricate piece which might be a conversation starter.
