Banksia by Melissa Cupidon

Features

ARTIST NOTES: Mixed media Collage inspired by the Banksia that can be found in the native bushland areas of the Mornington Peninsula. The bright and vibrant colours are chosen to invoke the feeling the artist has when she enjoys her regular bushwalks. This piece is made using hand printed papers created using a gel printing plate and golden and Matisse brand artists acrylics. The papers are then selected observing their colour and texture, to suit the subject matter of the artwork. Each piece of collage is cut individually one by one and glued down with love using artist quality gel medium. The background is full of life and texture, and the whole artwork is then finished in a gloss varnish bringing out the bright colours, and layers in the collage papers. 53cm x 40cm Framed in American ash
